June 2022 E-Newsletter

An introduction from our Community Insight Team

Welcome to the June newsletter from the Community Insight Team at DCF. This month we have a couple of new blog posts looking at community transport and the experiences of minority-led organisations in applying for our funding. If any minority led groups in Devon are interested in sharing their thoughts on making our grants more open and accessible to all, please do get in touch.

We’ve also been out and about in the community again and have some more Profiles of Associational Life (PALs) to share: Brixham and Starcross. We’re currently working on Bampton, Paignton and Honiton so if you work, live or have a lot of knowledge of these areas please do feel free to get in touch and share your thoughts on these areas: insights@devoncf.com

DCF have launched a new Thrive with Five fund focusing on mobility in relation to disability or ill-health. For more details on this and other grants currently available see the Funding section below.

Last but certainly not least, we welcome Dr Ian Blackwell to DCF as Partnerships Lead for the Wellbeing Exeter. Ian will also be developing strategic partnerships across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay to help tackle some of the county’s major inequalities, and to support the resilience and health of diverse communities. Ian has a long-standing commitment to people in Devon and is particularly well-known for his work with fathers and children through the social enterprise Dangerous Dads CIC. He can be contacted on ian@devoncf.com
