SMALL GRANTS: THE STORY SO FAR

In June this year we opened our Small Grants application process, providing a single “front door” for grants up to £5,000. These grants are available for organisations that are strengthening communities and tackling inequalities in Devon.

As we expected, demand for these grants has been high. Since May we have received more than 200 applications for grants totaling more than £920,000. So far we have awarded 65 grants worth more than £280,000, and counting.

It is humbling to look back at the breadth and extent of work we have been able to fund across Devon in such a short space of time. This has included improving access to fitness for people affected by addiction in North Devon, offering community health support sessions for young people in East Devon, hosting clothes swap sessions in Plymouth, and running a literacy programme for young children in Mid Devon.

As the year draws to a close we wanted to celebrate the groups doing such amazing work in their communities, and our generous donors who enable us to keep making grants. We have created this video to provide a snapshot of some of the work we have funded this year and the difference it is making.
