We were delighted to welcome around 100 friends and supporters of Devon Community Foundation to our 30th Anniversary Celebration Event at Rockbeare Manor on the evening of 4 November.

Guests were welcomed by the DCF staff team, along with Trustees past and present. We were also honoured to welcome DCF’s President, David Fursdon, HM Lord Lieutenant of Devon.

Our guest of honour was Emma de Closset, CEO of UK Community Foundations, who spoke about the integral role community foundations play in their local communities, and the excting plans UKCF have for the coming years.

Devon Community Foundation’s own 10-Year Strategy was introduced by Chair of Trustees, Jake Moores DL, who thanked supporters new and old for enabling DCF to make such a positive impact on the community over the past three decades, with over £28,000,000 made in grants to local groups and organisations.

We were also delighted to announce that Devon Community Foundation and Cornwall Community Foundation will be working with the Devon and Cornwall Police to deliver grant funding of £175k a year for the next three years. The new funds are Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) related and come as a result of a civil forfeiture order from the Tate brothers the force was successful in pursuing at the end of 2024. This programme enables community-based organisations to deliver trauma-informed interventions for women, girls, and families. It expands on a pilot that we’ve run over last two years in conjunction with the Sedel-Collings Foundation, the Royal British Legion, and Plymouth City Council.

At the end of the evening, guests were presented with two brand new DCF publications, the 2025/26 Annual Review, and the 10-Year Strategy, Devon Community Foundation 2036.
