Batsworthy Fund Update

We are pleased to share that we can now offer small grants up to £5,000 from the Batsworthy Cross Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund. The maximum amount has recently been increased from £2,000.

Grants from this fund are available to community groups in the area of benefit working within a range of themes. These include encouraging skills and employment, and improving health and wellbeing.

The fund is managed by Devon Community Foundation, and funding decisions are recommended by a community panel made up of representatives of the 10 parishes covered by the fund.

Small grants of up to £5,000 are available throughout the year. We aim to notify small grants applicants of the outcome within six weeks of submitting their application.

Large grants of between £5,000 and £30,000 are available on a quarterly basis. The deadline for applications to be considered at the next large grants panel is noon on 25th March 2025.

Grants of over £30,000 (up to £70,000) are available on occasion. Please email grants@devoncf.com if you would like to discuss such a project.

Please also note that we have slightly updated our guidance around applications from churches as follows:

“Local churches are eligible to apply but the Batsworthy funds cannot be used for any activity promoting religious beliefs. The community panel will prioritise applications relating to the upkeep/improvement of church buildings that can include strong evidence of demand from and benefit to the community beyond the churchgoing congregation.”
