Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Rob Currie and Ross Badger, trustees from the Sedel-Collings Foundation, for a day of visits to some of the local groups they have helped to support.
We’ve partnered with the Sedel-Collings Foundation to give grants to local charities and voluntary organisations working to strengthen their communities in a range of ways. Rob and Ross, along with our CEO, Mary Hancock, and Grants and Engagement Officer, Sophie Smith, spent the day visiting some of the groups funded through this partnership. They met with:
Following the visit, Rob said: “As a trustee/donor I really value connecting with the recipients, hearing their issues and getting a greater understanding of what life is like for them. Armed with this, I can offer ideas, suggest possible connections and take what I learn into the other aspects of my life, encouraging others to get into philanthropy or support causes close to them.
“Using the local community foundation saves me time and effort, meaning the time I can give is very well spent. It also provides a great deal of assurance.”
