GRANTS UPDATE

We are continuing to refine and improve our processes for distributing grants to strengthen communities and tackle inequalities in Devon. Our aim is to make it easier for organisations to access the funding they need. While we work towards this we have a few updates to share about some of our funds and application processes:

Large Grants

We currently have a number of funds confirmed or in development through which we can offer grants of between £5,000 and £35,000. To distribute these, we are inviting organisations to express an interest in a large grant. After the initial expression of interest (EOI) phase we will invite smaller numbers of relevant organisations to submit a full application for specific funds.

Any non-profit organisation doing charitable work based in Devon with an income in the last financial year under £1m is welcome to submit an expression of interest. However, the funds that we currently have available means we are particularly interested to hear from:

  • Organisations working in partnership in their local area to address food insecurity
  • Organisations led by or with particularly strong connections to people with: disabilities and/or suffering long term ill health, black and minoritised ethnic communities, traveller communities, people who are experiencing homelessness/are insecurely housed – and with the means to administer direct support to these groups specifically (e.g. food parcels, support with fuel costs)
  • Organisations delivering mental health support particularly for men of all ages, and/or young people
  • Organisations supporting young people in Tiverton to achieve their potential

Our first expression of interest round is open until 7th November. Find out more and register here.

Small Grants and Community Benefit Funds

Over the next few weeks we will be migrating to a new digital system. This is being managed by our umbrella organisation, UK Community Foundations, and all member community foundations are also in the process of moving to the new system. Once in place it will provide a much improved application process and we hope that any disruption while we make the transition will be minimal.

However, while we are working on the migration our timescales for informing applicants of a decision will be extended for a period. We will also be pausing applications for Small Grants and Community Benefit Funds from noon on Friday 11th October for up to a month. If you have an application for a Small Grant or one of our Community Benefit Funds in process you will need to complete it before 11th October or begin again when our new system is active.

We will share further updates as soon as we can.

Devonian Grants

We will also be pausing applications to our Devonian Grants at noon on Friday 11th October. Applications for these grants will then be paused until further notice. If you have an application for a Devonian grant in progress please complete it before 11th October.

If you have questions about any of the above please feel free to contact our grants team via grants@devoncf.com.
