The purpose of Neurodevelopment Through Movement Grants is to support the provision of specialised movement lessons for children and adults with additional needs (including, but not limited to, developmental delays, autism, cerebral palsy, genetic conditions, neurological disorders, stroke, brain and physical injury) in order to improve the quality of their lives.

Grant Amount
Grants of any value will be considered and must be spent within 12 months of the award. DCF will pay to the provider of services or training directly.
Priorities
Movement lessons and techniques must be specifically designed to take advantage of the brain’s plasticity, to facilitate neurological change and to form new neural connections, with the aim of moving the student beyond existing limitations.
The fund will also consider funding specialist training in the styles of movement lessons stated above for: a) a parent or carer of a disabled person with the aim of improving that person’s wellbeing, or b) other adults aiming to provide such lessons within Devon.
Organisation Eligibility
Applications MUST be made by a health care professional such as an Occupational Therapist or a GP or registered Neurodevelopment Through Movement practitioner working with the individual.
We will occasionally accept applications from individuals in need of treatment and, in these cases will liaise with the chosen and named professional practitioner to inform our assessment of the application.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year.
