Funding Methods and Types

DCF works with you to use your donation via two different methods and across three different fund types, depending on how much you wish to donate.

Funding Methods

Endowed Fund

Your initial donation is invested by our professional investment managers. The return achieved each year is used to provide funding across Devon, creating a permanent and sustainable source of funding that is vital for the ongoing support of our communities.

Flow through

Your donation is spent out over a set period of time agreed with you, usually over twelve months. The donation is used to provide immediate funding across Devon.

Give Love Devon Fund

Why not combine your funds with other donors to be distributed by DCF across themes we’ve researched and identified as being the most relevant to our communities right now?

The collaboration of the Give Love Devon Fund allows us to use all donations, regardless of amount, to provide greater impact and support across Devon.

Donors to the Give Love Devon Fund are happy to be hands off and rely on the knowledge and experience of our professional team to deliver funding where and when it is needed most. We provide regular feedback, newsletters, videos and blogs telling the stories of the amazing groups and charities funded by your collective efforts. We also run annual events where you can meet the groups and hear about their inspirational work.
Method:

Donations to this fund can be for any amount and can be either endowed or flow through.

Named Funds

Set up and name your own fund with us. Whether you are an individual, family, businesses or organisation we will source suitable funding applications from groups and organisations that match your interests across our six funding themes. Where appropriate you, your family or your staff can choose exactly the projects to fund that resonate most with your aims. We will review the aims and objectives of your fund with you each year to ensure it is meeting your philanthropic aims and objectives.

If you want to enter into a larger funding programme, we will invite you to join other like-minded fund holders to contribute to a significant project, pooling the resources of multiple donors to achieve a far greater outcome.

Named Funds can also be used to take on existing charitable trusts or foundations, where the governance or administration is becoming a burden and the existing trustees are finding it a challenge to meet their charitable obligations. DCF is endorsed by the charity commission to complete this, thereby revitalising charitable income for the sector.

Method:

Endowed Fund: starts at £100,000 donation
Flow through: starts at £10,000 donation

Bespoke Funds

Want something more? If you are seeking strategic philanthropy with the potential to change systems and practices to improve the lives and opportunities of the people in our communities, why not work with us to design your own programme?

Bespoke funds are held by donors who wish to make a significant six or seven figure donation. We work together to devise a philanthropic strategy to enable them to achieve their aims of even longer-term, more impactful giving.
