DCF is working with Kitsons Solicitors and other partners on a continuing professional development seminar for professional service advisers and clients on financial planning and philanthropic giving. 

History & Philanthropy
Exploring the rich history of philanthropic giving in Devon, starting with a visit to Killerton House, the former seat of the Acland family. Dominic Acland will join us for a discussion on his family’s philanthropic journey and how the estate was handed over to the National Trust.

Living a More Generous Life - A TEDxExeter Adventure
As part of their 2017 programme of events TEDxExeter, Exeter’s leading ideas festival, are planning a TEDx Adventure to explore Living a More Generous Life. They have invited Martha Wilkinson to share her ideas on “Giving More Locally.”

Devon on Earth - The Environment and Philanthropy
Some leading lights in the field will speak on the reconciliation of people and nature and some previously funded projects will illustrate the role of philanthropy in building that connection.

Young People & Philanthropy
Teaching the next generation to give. The pupils of Blundell’s School in Tiverton have had a DCF fund since 2009 and now have significant cash available to give away! The pupils will be given the chance to nominate charities they would like to see benefit from their fund.

Doing Good by Doing Well
How do you learn about and measure your social footprint locally? Leaders from the business community will discuss the simple and effective ways in which Corporate Social Responsibility enables businesses to make an impact where they, their employees and their customers live
and work.

New Philanthropists of North Devon
There has been a real growth in philanthropy in North Devon, and we have a number of new supporters who will be sharing their thoughts on giving locally. Including their passions and the ways they feel communities can come together to thrive.

Hidden Rural Hardship
From the lack of opportunities available for young people, to the isolation sometimes felt by older people, rural hardship is often unseen. Many of those involved in the Foundation come from rural backgrounds and know first hand the very real challenges rural living can pose.

Faith & Philanthropy
We have a prestigious venue lined up for this event to include all faiths and none. Some key figures will lead this debate on the role that faith plays in philanthropy and its relevance to 21st Century giving.

From Trauma to Transformation
DCF is a catalyst for change, funding projects which are making a big difference to the lives of vulnerable local people. This event is a chance to see our work in action, learning about landbased recovery and ways to smooth the sometimes difficult transition from military life to civilian life.

The Power of the Pink £
We are bringing together a number of high profile professional people to explore what support is needed for the local LGBT community and the opportunities for LGBT philanthropy.

Four Devon Debates
These special dinners will offer the chance to discuss some of the most important issues our county faces and how best to tackle them together to make a significant difference to peoples’ lives.

The Arts & Philanthropy
Access to the arts is a transformative experience for many whose lives have been challenging. DCF will showcase community projects which can provide people with new opportunities and demonstrate the power of philanthropic giving to the arts.
