We are quickly running out of funds for the Grassroots Grant Scheme - apply now to avoid disappointment! It is likely that the next round in September maybe the last standard round to be held, as almost all of the funds available have now been awarded. Therefore, if you are planning to apply to the Grassroots Grants Scheme make sure you apply now. We have Outreach support available should you require help with your application - go to the Grassroots Grants page for further details.

We manage a range of grant-making funds which are quick and easy to apply for, particularly if you are a small charity, community or voluntary group.

Our Funds change on a regular basis, so keep checking to see what's available. See our full range of funds below and apply to the one which is right for you or your group.

GRANTS FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS

Grassroots Grants

Grants of £250 - £5,000 for community and voluntary groups in Devon (including Torbay and Plymouth) which meet the following criteria:

  • Annual income of less than £30,000
  • In operation for at least 12 months
  • Address needs of the local community
  • Volunteer led
  • Have a governing document, such as a constitution

Application deadlines are as follows:

  • 13th September 2010 
  • 8th November 2010 (this maybe cancelled if all funds have been allocated)

Small Grants

Grants of up to £500 for community projects and groups which are not eligible for other grant making programmes. Incorporating the:

  • Wales & West General Fund
  • Rural Fund
  • North Devon Relief Fund
  • Claire Milne Trust Fund
  • Anne Mildmay White Family Fund

Grants are made every quarter and the deadlines are annually as follows:

  • 30th June
  • 30th September
  • 31st December
  • 31st March

Devonian Fund

This helps community groups specifically targetting mobility problems. It is also available to individuals but these must be referred by a Health Care Professional or community group. The average grant is £500, however larger sums of £1,000 or more may be considered.

Grants are made every quarter and the deadlines are annually as follows:

  • 30th June
  • 30th September
  • 31st December
  • 31st March

Police Property Fund

Applications are invited from local voluntary groups which are working with their local Neighbourhood Beat Manager or Police Community Support Office to improve the lives of people in their community. The main purpose of the fund is to improve public confidence in the Police and their partners and the way they deal with issues that matter to the local community.

Application deadline:  30th January 2011
